Penumbra: Shadow, the shadow of an eclipse

These assemblages are made of old book covers, dipped in encaustic and mounted on birch panels. When dipped in melted beeswax the papers become somewhat translucent, and unexpected details emerge, enriching these found landscapes. I've handlettered Latin words suggested by the images.
